This project is for a new build in Cumberland, on a property with a truly stunning view of the misty Beaufort foothills. Focal groupings of selected trees are key to establishing this new build in the landscape and framing the expansive view of the mountains beyond.
The roadside bed along the driveway features something more unique than your average city yard – the grouped circles of a Corten weathered steel bird bath, a river rock surround, intersecting with a vivid green clover lawn will draw the eye in and beyond the custom street address sign shown below…
Clean crisp lines of narrow grey pavers are softened by frothy tufts of evergreen grasses, and echoed by slatted fences and a built in corner bench around the outdoor fire.
Bold contrasting plantings are in bronze purples, coppers, glaucous blues and fresh clean greens, mixing in edibles, drought tolerant, deer resistant, and native plants wherever possible while still incorporating the client’s dearest perennials.
