Creating a beautiful landscape requires good design, just as building a house needs blueprints. I design unique and fresh outdoor living spaces to reflect your lifestyle.
I refer my clients to reputable and reliable Landscape Contractors within the Comox Valley to install my designs. See selected Portfolio below:
I design custom landscapes which can then be installed by a local Landscape Contractor or by yourself, as you choose.
Not every Landscape Contractor knows plants or has the ability to communicate a design.
They may not have the visualization tools or drawings to help you to decide what you want from an outdoor space.
When you hire me as your Landscape Designer you benefit from all the experience, vibrancy and creativity that I bring to the project.
I strive to provide insightful, timely, and personable communication as we work together to create your ideal landscape.
Drawings, Planting Plans, 3D Perspectives, Theme Boards… all the communication tools that are required for a comprehensive Landscape Design to be installed.
Beginning with our initial interview and Site Analysis, through detailed Concept Development we finish with the Final Design, Planting Plan & Master Plant List. Here is an outline of what to expect from my collaborative design process.
Packages generally $600.00 to $2000.00.
Contact me to arrange an Estimate for a Design Package of drawings and supplemental materials specific to your particular project.

The dramatic days of autumn are returning. Cool, brisk mornings warm up surprisingly into fair sunlit days, and twilight is early enough to be enjoyed with low back lighting fading softly into quiet crisp evenings. The lighting during autumn is always so unique – low angles create fascinating shadows, and bring colours to the fore […]
Every summer our family takes to the hills, rain or shine, with frequent weekends away backpacking and exploring. We suit the kids up with their adorably petite and jaunty back packs and lumber on with our own overstuffed and weighty gear, coaxing our four and six year olds with hiking treats, heaps of praise and […]
One of the lessons of landscape design is patience. Design is a process, and it takes time for all the pieces to come together to achieve a fully realized landscape. In depth client meetings, detailed site analysis, mapping out of main components, developing the overall concept, working through revisions, finalizing layouts and pouring over plants […]
Landscape Designer, Horticultural Technician, Permaculture Designer
Born and raised in Victoria, BC, I am a member of a privileged few to call our stunning Vancouver Island home.
In 2006 I completed the Horticulture Technician Program at the Pacific Horticulture College in Victoria, B.C. Upon graduation I spent the following years working on landscape design, installation and maintenance as Gardens by Arianne. My family and I moved to the spectacularly lovely Comox Valley in 2014. In addition to traditional landscaping I have experience with annual and perennial vegetable growing and tree pruning. I have a keen interest in permaculture, and try to include edible, native and drought tolerant species in designs whenever possible. In 2014 I completed the Permaculture Design Course (PDC online) with Geoff Lawton.
I use landscape industry design software to create scale drawings and am proficient in Dynascape, SketchUp for 3D model images, and the collaborative use of online tools such as Pinterest and Houzz to maintain a high standard of communication with my clients.
Proud Member and Volunteer of the Comox Valley Horticultural Society .
Member of the Pacific Horticulture College Alumni.
“We were very satisfied with Arianne’s knowledge of design , plants and trees. We were thrilled with Arianne’s ability to turn our blank slate into a beautiful oasis. The design of our backyard is beautiful!”
February 2019Shena Hinks, Royston
“I highly recommend Arianne for your landscape design. She is very pleasant to deal with. She offers a wealth of design knowledge and brings forth a lot of fresh ideas. Good old fashion customer service.”
September 2017Gerry Cormons, Courtenay
“I would highly recommend you. I felt that you listened and understood what I wanted, and used your expertise to make my ideas and preferences work. Where we needed to make adjustments with varieties, you did so while staying in the framework we had worked on together. My finished garden is very impressive. Although I admit to being a little biased, our location means we get a lot of passersby and many compliments.”
